Jordan Price is a guitarist, bassist, composer, producer, and music teacher in Sacramento, California. He is best known as the guitarist and bassist for the Sacramento Ska/Reggae/Rock band The E-Regulars. Jordan’s love for music began in elementary school where he played saxophone in the school band. While in high school, the heavy guitar sounds of Van Halen and Metallica convinced him to pick up the guitar and bass. He quickly realized that he wanted to play in rock bands and record and tour as a professional musician. His experience with both horns and rock instruments led to his involvement performing and writing for funk, ska, and reggae groups, however he regularly performs with a wide variety of acts including psychedelic folk-rockers My Evergreen Soul and the Bay Area death metal band Apothesary.
Jordan has a Bachelor’s Degree in Music from San Jose State University where he studied jazz guitar, composition, music theory, and electro-acoustic music under the instruction of Rick Vandivier and Dr. Pablo Furman. While attending he performed with the school’s award-winning Choir and Afro-Latin Jazz Ensembles as well as premiering original pieces of electro-acoustic music and co-teaching the University’s beginning guitar class. Jordan also studied recording arts at Diablo Valley College in Pleasant Hill, California, and has studied privately with Bay Area jazz guitarist Mike Williams, Sacramento composer and guitarist Chris Lee, funk and R&B bassist Glenn Letsch, and has attended master classes with jazz legends John Stowell and Hristo Vitchev.
Jordan’s versatile playing spans rock, metal, reggae, ska, funk, blues, and jazz. His personal style has been described as expressive, articulate, epic. He made his debut as a producer in 2016 with The E-Regulars’ California Burnout. He is currently teaching and performing in the Sacramento area while working on new material with The E-Regulars as well as working oh his solo project, Bleak Machine. and performing with the jazz ensemble Symphonia Phonotone.
